Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
We are deeply committed to the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) model. PLC implementation is our primary initiative and an essential part of our Multi-Tiered System of Support. We recognize the PLC model as a highly effective way to impact students and empower teachers to collaborate rather than work in isolation. Our work is guided by Rick and Becky DuFour and colleagues at Solution Tree.
We focus on four essential questions:
- What do we expect our students to learn? (Essential Standards)
- How will we know they are learning? (Teacher Created Common Formative Assessments)
- How will we respond when they don’t learn? (System of Interventions)
- How will we respond when they already know it? (Extended Learning)
