NOTICE TO GENERAL ENGINEERING, GENERAL BUILDING, AND SUBCONTRACTORS

Prequalify for Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing Work on School District Projects

The Governing Board of the Stockton Unified School District (“District”) has determined that all prime contractors holding A or B licenses, as well as electrical, mechanical, or plumbing contractors holding C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and/or C-46 licenses (“MEP Subcontractors”), must be prequalified to bid or be submitted as a first-tier subcontractor for all District projects using funds received pursuant to the Leroy F. Greene School Facilities Act of 1998 or any future state school bond funds.

Contractors or subcontractors holding the above licenses interested in bidding or being listed as MEP Subcontractors must submit fully completed prequalification forms and financial information (“Prequalification Package”) through the District’s online prequalification service. To get started, please visit PQBIDS and follow the Contractor Prequalification instructions for creating an account. After creating an account, you can complete and submit the prequalification application online. Contractors who submit a complete Prequalification Package will be notified by e-mail of their qualification status within ten business days. Prequalification approval is valid for one (1) calendar year from the notice of qualification, except as noted. Contractors currently listed as approved do not need to requalify for this project.

To prequalify, contractors must possess one or more of the aforementioned California Contractor Licenses, active and in good standing throughout the prequalification period or the term of any awarded contract, whichever is longer. Contractors must also be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations.

All work on District projects must comply with prevailing wage requirements. Contractors shall pay workers not less than the general prevailing rate for per diem, holiday, and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, California, for the type of work and locality within the District, pursuant to Section 1770 et seq. of the California Labor Code.

Prequalification Packages submitted by contractors are confidential and not public records, except as required by law. Information may be disclosed for verification, investigation of substantial allegations, or the appeal process. The names of contractors applying for prequalification status are public records.

Contractors may be denied prequalification for omission or falsification of requested information.
