Accessing Health Coverage Outside Your Region Service Area: Generally, only emergency or urgent care services are covered when seeking medical care that is outside your residential service area. However, you should contact your medical insurance carrier (phone number on the back of your insurance card) to review your travel care options. You may also want to review the Evidence of Coverage (EOC) document for your medical plan (see the EOC section listed above) for information on receiving care outside your residential service area.
