Career Technical Education

Build Skills.
Find Your Future.

Real Skills. Real Opportunities.

SUSD Career Technical Education (CTE) prepares students for high-wage, high-demand career pathways. While CTE includes traditional vocational programs such as construction and automotive repair, it now expands across modern industries including health care, information technology, advanced manufacturing, engineering, hospitality, public safety, business, and agriculture. CTE supports SUSD’s mission to “graduate all students college, career, and community ready.” Research from organizations such as Advance CTE shows that students who complete CTE programs have higher high school graduation rates, stronger postsecondary success, and improved employment outcomes. CTE develops both technical and professional skills and helps students identify their next steps—such as employment, apprenticeship, trade school, community college, or a university degree.
