CalPERS 2026 Medical Open Enrollment for Retirees
The 2026 CalPERS Medical Annual Open Enrollment for Retirees was held from September 15, 2025 through October 10, 2025. Any medical plan or coverage changes made through CalPERS during the annual open enrollment period will become effective on January 1, 2026 for the 2026 benefit plan year. The District’s early retiree medical reimbursement amount changes (for eligible retirees) for the 2026 plan year will begin on the December 30, 2025 pay warrant.
Retirees should contact CalPERS at 1-888-225-7377 with any questions about their medical plan, or for assistance with enrollment.

Thinking about or planning to retire and want to know your health benefit options? It is recommended that you begin preparing for your retirement at least one year in advance. Starting at the one year mark, you should access your myCalPERS or myCalSTRS online account to review the available resources, use the retirement pension estimate calculator and attend virtual or in-person retirement education classes.
The Benefits Department will hold virtual and in-person Retirement Planning Workshops at various times throughout the year. Early Retirees
“Early Retirees” are those who are between age 55 – 64 and are eligible to receive the District’s retiree medical reimbursement.

*PERS Platinum PPO is the only CalPERS medical plan that offers coverage to retirees outside of California

2026 CalPERS Medicare Supplemental Plan Rates (retirees age 65 or older)
CalPERS offers supplemental health plans to retirees who are enrolled in Medicare Part-B coverage. Retirees would need to contact CalPERS 1-888-225-7377 for more information and to enroll in one of their supplemental health plans. Please see the rate sheet below under the Supplement/Managed Medicare sections.
*Employees who are age 65 or older at retirement, may elect to continue their same District dental, vision and/or chiropractic coverage through COBRA for up to 18-months. Please see the rate sheet below.
