To maintain academic stability, transfer requests typically take effect at the start of the next grading period. Requests may only be submitted during the open windows listed below.

Request Windows

      Elementary School
            Trimester 1: May 14, 2026 – August 7, 2026
            Trimester 2: October 26, 2026 – November 6, 2026
            Trimester 3: February 10, 2027 – February 25, 2027

      High School
            Quarter 1: May 14, 2026 – August 7, 2026
            Quarter 2: September 28, 2026 – October 16, 2026
            Quarter 3: December 14, 2026 – January 8, 2027
            Quarter 4: March 8, 2027 – March 26, 2027

Must enter one application per student.

  • Do NOT re-apply if you have previously been denied due to no space.
  • Hardship form is below. Do not click on the link if you are in transition. See below for detail.

Living Situations That Do NOT Require a Hardship Application

Do not complete a hardship application if you are currently in any of the following living situations. Instead, visit our office at 1800 S. Sutter St. for further assistance.

Homeless children / Unaccompanied Youth

  • In a shelter (family, domestic violence, or youth shelter or transitional living program)
  • In a motel, hotel, or weekly rate housing
  • In a house or apartment with more than one family because of economic hardship (foreclosure/eviction)
  • In an abandoned building, in a car, at a campground, or on the streets
  • If you are a runaway or unaccompanied youth
