Our mission is to graduate every student college, career, and community ready. In doing so, we strive to lift every student beyond circumstances of poverty and scarcity through high expectations, equitable opportunities, and meaningful support.

Successful schools provide safe, welcoming environments where students can learn and teachers can focus on instruction. Student support emphasizes prevention, intervention, and reinforcing positive behavior.

Stockton Unified School District is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment that prepares students for college, career, and community readiness. By fostering responsibility, respect, and citizenship, students become engaged and contributing members of society.

The District utilizes an age-appropriate Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for both academics and behavior. This tiered approach provides students with appropriate interventions and strategies that help them understand their role within the classroom while promoting academic success.

Parents, guardians, and students are encouraged to become familiar with the Student Conduct Code so everyone understands both the philosophy behind student expectations and the consequences of conduct code violations. Stockton Unified School District is committed to treating every student with respect, dignity, and fairness.

Statement to Principals

Students in Stockton Unified School District, like members of every community, have both rights and responsibilities. It is the District's responsibility to protect those rights while educating students about their responsibilities.

The purpose of the Student Conduct Code is to ensure that students understand their rights and responsibilities, the consequences of inappropriate behavior, and the procedures used to address misconduct. The Conduct Code establishes a consistent framework for school discipline aligned with California Education Code.

School administrators should also consult the Student Conduct Code Book, Guidelines for Addressing Conduct Code Violations, and Conduct Code Violation Intervention Strategies when determining appropriate disciplinary responses and student interventions.
